Ammonium Nitrate
Ammonium nitrate applications include vent lines coming off
the neutralizer and the evaporator concentrator. These applications
typically use FLEXIFIBER® Type
BD or
Type IC Mist
Eliminators. In addition, the AN prill tower must be fitted
with mist eliminators.
A combination of DEMISTER® and
FLEXIFIBER® Mist
Eliminators works well to remove sub-micron mist and particulate
that causes
a visible plume.

Ethylene / Propylene
Revamps to provide more throughput capacity for ethylene/propylene
products are simplified using high capacity DEMISTER® or
DEMISTER-PLUS™ Mist Eliminator technology.
Knockout drums for multi-stage compressors can increase
capacity dramatically. Further advances in capacity can
be achieved by using YORK-EVENFLOW™ Inlet
Gas Distribution Devices.

Nitric Acid
As air and ammonia are fed to the reactor/converter, they
must first be cleaned using FLEXIFIBER® Mist
Eliminators to
prevent decomposition of the ammonia and contamination
of the platinum gauze. In addition,
the FLEXIFIBER mist eliminators are used to filter and
recover the platinum gauze and to eliminate acid mist carried
over from the absorption tower.

Organic Vent Packages
Any organic liquid that has been heated and rapidly
shock-cooled can generate fine sub-micron droplets.
These small mist
particles create a "blue plume" because
of the refraction of light waves off the sub-micron
organic
particles. Removal of these particles is accomplished
by using FLEXIFIBER® Mist
Eliminators. These skid mounted
mist eliminator systems can be supplied complete
with blowers, pre-filters, piping, and instrumentation.

Phosphoric Acid
Burning and hydrating phosphorus rock causes small, sometimes
sub-micron droplets that can cause air pollution if
not treated properly. FLEXIFIBER® Type
BD or Type
IC Mist
Eliminators eliminate the fine mist associated with
this process.

Sulfonation
Typically SO3 is used to react with aromatic hydrocarbon
for the sulfonation process. The SO3 will often combine
with moisture in the air creating acid that causes
safety and corrosion problems. In addition, acid mist
in the
SO3 will cause a hazy appearance in the final product. FLEXIFIBER® Mist
Eliminators can protect your
investment by removing contaminants in the SO3 stream
prior to reaction and also remove acid mist after the
reactor.

Urea Applications
FLEXIFIBER® Mist
Eliminators are
used to eliminate oil and water contamination from
CO2 compressors prior to reaction. In addition,
FLEXIFIBER mist
eliminators are used downstream of prill towers
and evaporators to remove plumes, pollution, and
product
loss.
